Fuerteventura

The Spanish island of Fuerteventura is off the coast of Morocco. It is a volcanic island where the wind blows almost continuously. This wind ensures that there are also continuous waves for one of the most beautiful surf sessions. The waves can get very big in certain seasons, so during this time, it is especially suitable for experienced surfers. But in other seasons, the surf conditions are excellent for all skill levels.

Long unpaved roads along the volcanic coastline are not accessible for every car. A suitable car is necessary. However, because of these more challenging roads, you can also discover places where you are completely alone, either in the water with the most beautiful waves, or on a cliff viewing the Atlantic Ocean.

The climate is nice all year round. Because of the constant wind, the temperature is very pleasant, even with the strong sun.

El Cotillo

El Cotillo is a small village on the northwest coast of one of the Canary Islands, namely Fuerteventura. There is always a strong wind, making this tranquil village popular among surfers and kite surfers. Surrounding El Cotillo, you'll find a rugged coastline with beautiful high cliffs. From here, many highlights of Fuerteventura are easily accessible by car.

Surf

Fuerteventura has many beautiful spots for surfing. Waves can be very high in certain seasons and may not be suitable for beginners. However, in other times of the year, beginners can also learn to surf comfortably. The water temperature in the summer months is delightful, but it can cool down significantly in the winter months. It is advisable to wear a wetsuit if you are someone who gets cold easily.

Hike

Fuerteventura is a volcanic island, offering the opportunity to climb a volcano and even venture a short distance into the crater. It's important to be aware that the top of the volcano can be very windy, potentially posing some risks. Nevertheless, the panoramic view from the summit is truly breathtaking.

The island also boasts other stunning hiking trails to explore. Given its volcanic characteristics, these hikes often lead through dry, desert-like landscapes.
