Mexico
Mexico is so diverse! I've only seen the east coast of the country. So, I can confidently say that I will return to Mexico to explore the inland and the west coast.
The country is immensely vast. You need plenty of time to truly see and experience Mexico. Let yourself be immersed in the local culture, as it holds an extensive history. A testament to this is Chichén Itzá, a world wonder that no one should miss. Swimming & snorkeling in Cenotes is also an activity you'll never forget.
Cenotes
Throughout Mexico, you can find thousands of cenotes. These are water-containing caves, especially prevalent in regions where there are no above-ground rivers. Cenotes held sacred significance for the Maya people as they were considered entrances to the underworld, and many offerings were made in ancient times. Currently, many cenotes offer the opportunity for swimming and snorkeling, showcasing a beautiful natural phenomenon!
Chichén Itzá
One of the wonders of the world is located in Mexico, and it is Chichén Itzá. This large Mayan temple is a highly touristy attraction; hundreds of people visit this temple daily. Many cenotes can be found around Chichén Itzá. This place was one of the most important Mayan cities for the Maya people.
Cities
Mexico has many cities. Numerous cities feature an authentic center with colorful houses, charming squares, and a multitude of restaurants and bars. You can get pleasantly lost in the streets of these Mexican cities, entertaining yourself for hours by appreciating the architecture that this country has to offer.
The people
Mexico has approximately 126 million inhabitants. The majority of the population is Catholic. In my experience with Mexicans, I have found them to be very friendly and hospitable. They are eager to help and enjoy it when tourists visit their country. Despite the prevalent poverty in the nation, I find Mexicans to be respectful and trustworthy.
